Stand Up, Save Our Coast

January 9, 2026 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join Save Our Shores, Oceana, Monterey Bay Aquarium, & Surfrider Monterey as we come together with local representatives, industry professionals, and community members to discuss the U.S. Department of the Interior’s new Five-Year Offshore Drilling Plan, which would open California waters to the first new oil and gas leases in 40 years.

The plan proposes six potential lease sales in federal waters off our state: three in Southern California, two in Central California, and one in Northern California and would place large stretches of our shoreline at risk. The plan threatens coastal communities, wildlife, and local economies with increased spill risk and unnecessary fossil fuel expansion.

In response, we are connecting individuals and local groups with action items, amplifying the voices of this powerful community. Learn more about the issue.
